I finally made a pillowcase. Actually, I made two, but the first one got really messed up somehow. Seems to happen to me a lot. Anyway, I’m very happy with how it came out. I followed these directions from Amy Butler. They were very simple, and a great project for a beginner or maybe as a project to sew with your kids. I’ll probably make a couple more, then try some pillowcases with a contrasting band of fabric and some trim. Those are really pretty, but I don’t usually have a lot of time to sit down and create, so this pillowcase was quick. Instant gratification.
In a previous post, I complained about the prices of pillowcases. This one cost me $0. The fabric (Laura Ashley, at that) was given to me, and I already had the thread. All it took was my time. I sure beats shelling out $12, $25, or $50 and more for a simple set of pillowcases. I don’t need them fancy, I just need them to cover the pillows!
I totally agree about pillow cases. $$$ I think I need to learn how to sew! LOL
